Turning stateside!

Time: 4:25PM
Place: Starbucks Northgate, Alabang

Fun but complete utter fail!
For some reason my kitchen explorations became all about a certain country's staple food. Like i did korean and italian before and now it's Bikok! and my staple ingredient here is GRAVY.

(picture taken from myrecipe.com and not from my own cooking)

Don't laugh! im not cooking to impress anyone, if it matters, i myself am not impressed! But hey, this is a journey to discovery so i dont really care! Nyahaha here goes (ghost!).. For the menu, i included:

• cheesy mashed potatoes, boiled together with the skin for additional texture, mashed and whipped with cheese, mayonnaise, spring onions, S&P like so.

There. Presentation fail. Hahaha

• i thought of including chicken fingers but i remember a good friend once recommended the idea of using chips as breading instead. So i tried it out using chicken thighs and seasalt potato chips.

For the flour mixture, i added cayenne powder, oregano, S&P.

So: flour mixture. Eggs. Chips. Deepfry. Repeat.

And we end up with this! Nice and crispy and crunchy!

• homemade burger pattie!
Okay, if there's one thing about me that u need to know, im not a big fan of BURGERS and PIZZAs. But i got pretty excited using my hands making this burger batter.

I bought 1/2 ground pork 1/2 ground beef from the grocery to combine 2 flavors. Mixed in breadcrumbs, oregano, minced garlic and onion, cheese, eggs, s&p. Mix mix mix. Gooey! Hihihi and make into ball. Heat skillet with oil. Flatten meat ball until it resembles a pattie. Fry.

Okay. Not the best looking burger pattie, did not exert much effort in the presentation and plating cause we got so hungry already!

• chunky monkey for desserts!
Chunky monkey with no peanuts / peanut butter but with vanilla ice cream on top!:)

Cheers! Until the next!:)
