Must. Rewrite. Here goes:
Well, KDC was last July 16, Saturday and it was a very tiring albeit awesome experience!
I got to Katipunan school around 8:30 and grabbed quick coffee before coming in.
Agatha handed me my CCA shirt, chef's hat and apron and off we went to class
She took me and nff Troy (father of 4) to an alreay starting class of around 12 people and they were doing a round of getting to know you's.
They were a class of different course (13day lecture only) but they were on the same page as the KDC so we joined them for that day.
After the getting to know you's, Chef Glenda told us we can have a quick 15minute break and then head back to Lab6 for the class proper. She handed out recipes for that. And we need to cook and plate all those dishes until 3pm!
Imagine my shock!
We need to make (and plate) all 5 dishes (4 for us since we're just noobs) without any training, schooling, lectures whatsoever!
But, my partner and i made a great team and we worked automatically without waiting for any instructions.
I learned how to simmer:
and debone:
In the end, we were both smiling goofily at our plated creations!
We made a not so bad bagnet (deepfried with seaweed salad.
Marinated our own chicken inasal in lemongrass and made our own atsara (from scratch!)
Very very spicy bicol express using string beans.
And lastly, our beef caldereta using real tomatoes and not powdered mix! ( as what jessa said)
It was a very exhausting day but everything went well so it's not so bad :)
There they are all lined up and plated.
And.. Here i am:
Happy happy happy!
